英語のパネルを組織し、カルタイで発表した。パネル全体のテーマは、アジア各地の美術展覧会の歴史をつうじて植民地主義とポスト植民地主義がどのように表象されたかを問うもの。足立は、日本を含めたアジア各国の美術展で初めてのヌード絵画の登場について論じ、それぞれの国において公娼制度成立や欧米との関係と関わることを指摘。
