ケラーの『幸運の鍛冶屋』試論―事物描写を中心に―

ケラーは事物を具に描く作家である。とはいっても、事物を独立に、環境を作り出す対象物を自然主義的に完全に列挙するのではなく、登場人物に関連のある事物が、ライトモティーフ的に、イロニーを帯びて描き出されるのである。つまり、ケラーにあっては、細密画的事物描写は、人間の否定的側面を浮き彫りにする一手段なのである。
